Reflexology:
Basics of the Middle Way
New Book by Moss Arnold

ISBN: 9781921596483

New foundations

A first for the Reflexology community is this new work by Moss Arnold with detailed analysis of the theories and practical applications of Reflexology as a serious therapy and science. It is over 400 pages of information covering all aspects of the basics of the science of Reflexology. There are four sections and they are:
  • Section 1: Foot Reflexology Theory
  • Section 2: Reflexology Techniques
  • Section 3: Systematic Approach to Reflexology
  • Section 4: Receivers of Reflexology Plus Appendices and Index
This is a ground breaking book as in Section 1 Moss, for the first time in the history of Reflexology, brings a critical and analytical eye to the current theories of Reflexology and for the first time in print details his theory which he calls the "Anatomical Reflection Theory", which stated simply is that the two feet reflect the body and all aspects of the body anatomically and proportionately accurately. It is an attempt to place Reflexology theory on a more solid foundation, which is the reason for this current work. Section 1 is concluded with a new far more detailed and accurate Reflexology Foot Chart, with two plantar (sole) charts as well as dorsal (back), medial (inside of the body) and lateral (outside) views as well. Note that the medial view is far more detailed than previous charts as it includes all organs and structure that are bi-lateral, that is on both sides of the body, such as Heart, Liver, Stomach, Pancreas, Transverse colon, Small Intestines, Urinary bladder and male and female reproductive organs.

In Section 2 Moss explains what he does, how he does it and most importantly why, which has been an area sorely missing in the Reflexology community up until now. Section 3 includes illustrations of each of the Systems of the body reflected in the feet and there are over 40 illustrations.

New Book

It took Moss over 2 years to complete these illustrations and the results are far more accurate and detailed charts of the systems of the body reflected in the feet and consequently a new physical Reflexology Foot chart, which is included at the end of Section 1. In the last section Moss has looked at the therapeutic situation in relation to clients and his basic approach to a reflexology consultation and treatment.

This is ground-breaking work and is designed to question current theories and practices to a view of understanding and expanding these, while at the same time challenging Reflexologists to understand what they do and how they do it, so that they can make an informed and conscious decision rather than working as a mechanic.

As Moss would put it; "The mechanic verses the artist." This is a revolutionary and evolutionary developing of the science of Reflexology.

The Chart links the Chinese philosophy, including Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with Reflexology. Included on the Chart are the Reflex points of each Organ's chi located on the sole of the feet; the spine and limbs of the body found on the feet; and the "Reflexions" of the acu-points; and all in FULL COLOUR!
